The Graphic and Multimedia Design program at College of the Canyons provides an encouraging but challenging comprehensive learning environment‚ which contributes technically and conceptually to the development of the artist. Professor Mark Daybell earned a MFA from CSU Fullerton and BS from California Polytechnic State University‚ San Luis Obispo. Over his 20–year career in the arts‚ he has exhibited his videos‚ photography‚ installations and films at museums‚ galleries‚ film festivals and alternative art venues. As a professor‚ Mark guides students in the processes of finding an artistic voice and instructs them on creating a portfolio to reflect that vision.
Shannon is a partner at Parallel-Play‚ a multi-disciplinary design studio in northern Los Angeles. She has designed and developed annual reports for both 826LA and 826National‚ Edward Kienholz and Frederick Hammersley exhibition catalogs for LA Louver‚ A Ring of Sunshine Around the Moon book for the Echo Park Time Travel Mart‚ and Beard‚ a book of photographs from the World Beard and Moustache Championships by Matthew Rainwaters for Chronicle Books.
Lin Wilde earned his BFA in Digital Media from Otis College of Art & Design. He has been a staff artist and postproduction expert at Blind since 2003. Lin has worked on hundreds of commercials for major companies‚ including Google‚ Microsoft‚ Audi and Nike. He has worked on promos for Showtime‚ Discovery‚ ABC‚ Spike and Fox Sports. Lin is also an active member of The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (The Emmys).
Mark Flanders received his Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin–Stout before going on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a MFA from California State University‚ Long Beach. Additionally‚ he studied both art and art history at Ealing College in England. Mark specializes in multimedia‚ traditional and non–traditional photography and bricolage. He has been a creative consultant and enjoys a rich and varied career as artist and instructor.
C.W. Moss is an author, illustrator, and designer from Missouri. In college, C.W. wrote a book that went viral and signed a book deal with Harper Collins/It Books! for Unicorn Being a Jerk (2011) and Why Unicorn Drinks (2013). Both books were featured at Urban Outfitters and selected for the Humor section of Barnes & Noble. He's worked with LACMA, the Hammer Museum, Cinefamily, the Craft & Folk Art Museum, Actual Size Gallery, WWA Gallery, and the Pasadena Museum of California Art. His work has been featured on Tosh.0. He's given lectures, hosted workshops, and taught classes at Otis College of Art & Design, Spiva Art Center, McAuley Catholic High School, and Local Color Art Gallery. He is a member of the Otis Alumni Council. In March and April 2016, he was Designer in Residence in Facebook's Analog Research Lab. In November 2016, Stolen Books published Butt-Buddies: A Fairy Tale.
Nery Junior is owner of and Creative Director at 7efex, a full media company providing services in Graphic Design, Printing, Web Design, and Social Media Management. His hobbies include playing musical instruments, and training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Omid is an interdisciplinary artist, based in Los Angeles. He received his undergraduate degrees in Industrial Design and Art History. He holds an MFA in visual arts from California State University, Northridge. He is interested in conceptual, site-specific, participatory and process-based projects. He conveys his message to the audience by utilizing a variety of platforms. His practice has a comprehensive range of functional design, interactive art, and fine art object. Status, social norm, power, and hierarchy are among his subject matter.
Vitaliy is a partner at The Digital Collective, where he manages and executes overall brand strategy and day-to-day operations, develops and implements creative marketing strategies across various communication channels and collaborates with clients to build long-lasting brands with attractive presence offline and online.
